Agni Steels bags Silver at the first ever Secondary Steel Sector award

The developments in the Secondary Steel sector have been a key factor in contributing to the economy of the country by providing a huge boost to the overall supply chain. As per the latest analytics, secondary steel producers contribute to over 60% of the total TMT Steel Rods production in the country. As TMT bars are the most important raw material for almost all the infrastructure and developments around the country, the secondary steel producers are driving this development.

With such a great involvement, it was time for the Ministry of Steel to recognize these efforts and felicitate the contributors to express their gratification. Therefore, for the first time, Ministry of Steel presented awards for the Secondary Steel Sector for their contribution to the national economy at a function in New Delhi on 13th September 2018. Twelve companies were awarded Gold Certificates and 14 Silver Certificates for their performance during 2016-17 by Chaudhary Birender Singh, Union Minister of Steel.

From all the states of India, 68 companies participated for this esteemed recognition for the secondary steel awards. A team of scientist from the committee examined these participant’s Steel-making practices for 3 days and based on what they witnessed, provided ranking and the award.
Among all these units, we were awarded the prestigious Silver award for our contribution to various facets of the Secondary steel-making. We were able to distinguish ourselves as a front runner in managing resources with processes at our manufacturing unit. Our consistent efforts to produce quality steel, concentrating on the environmental, health and safety measures has been studied and applauded by the committee. Our established best practice for employee engagement and societal initiatives for providing to our community is what set us apart.

We whole heartedly thank the Ministry of Steel for honoring us with this title and our entire team is elated with this badge of recognition. This drives us to work harder and consistently contribute to the Steel industry and also the country at large. We strive to get better each day and aspire to take this milestone as an inspiration to grow even further in our ecosystem.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our entire workforce at Agni Steels, who make our vision possible every day and make it possible to attain such great heights in the business.
