Tamil Thalaivas vs Bengal Warriors match preview
Tamil Thalaivas
League Record: W L L L
L
League Position : 6th, Zone B
The Tamil Thalaivas ended their recent losing streak against
a subdued U Mumba side, shattering their opponent’s playoff hopes. The
Thalaivas next opponents are already into the playoff round, but the Thalaivas
will be playing for honour instead of progress in the competition, and will not
be trying to give the Warriors an easy ride.
The chief threat to the Thalaivas
will come from Warriors raider Deepak Narwal. The talented and energetic raider
has the ability to be a constant thorn in his opponent’s side, forcing mistakes
from defenders and scoring points in equal measures. Warriors’ defender Surjeet
Singh is a calm and solid presence at the back. His tackles could be decisive
in stopping the Thalaivas offensive assets, prime among them Ajay Thakur.
Bengal Warriors
League Record: W W L W

League Position: 1st,
Zone B
The Bengal Warriors are one of the high-flying outfits in
the Pro Kabaddi league this season and have proved it by securing a coveted
playoff spot. With that in mind, the Warriors will undoubtedly have their eyes
on the big prize, the question lays in whether they will take this match
against the Tamil Thalaivas seriously. The Warriors biggest asset is
undoubtedly Surjeet Singh, his calm presence has been instrumental in shutting
down opposition raiders all season, and Ajay Thakur of the Thalaivas will be an
equal match to him.
The Star Thalaivas raider has been the difference for this
Thalaivas side and his speed and experience have helped him become one of the
premium raiders in the competition. C. Arun and Amit Hooda are a very good
defensive pair, but they will be tested to the limit coming up against Deepak
Narwal and Jang Kun Lee, both of whom are in the form of their lives.
