Tamil Thalaivas Vs Patna Pirates Post match Review
In Match 47 of the Pro Kabaddi League, the
Tamil Thalaivas faced a disappointing night at The Dome, Mumbai as they were
defeated by the Patna Pirates. The Patna Pirates have now won 4 games of the 7 played
and the win gives them valuable momentum in the Zone B standings. The
Thalaivas. on the other hand, faced their 4th loss of the tournament
which leaves them stranded at the bottom of the Zone B standings.
The match began with an unsuccessful raid
by Patna Pirates captain Pardeep Narwal, followed by a successful raid by
Thalaivas captain Ajay Thakur. This provided the Thalaivas with some early
momentum in the game as they led 4-1 inside the first 4 minutes. They proved
unable to hold on to this momentum, and allowed the Patna Pirates room to
bounce back. Inflicting an all out, followed by a successful raid by Pardeep
Narwal left the Thalaivas trailing behind their opponents. As the first half
came to a close, the score read 16-9 favouring the Patna Pirates.
The Patna Pirates took control of the
second half from the very beginning and capitalised on every opportunity to
extend their lead. Raider Manu Goyat and Defender Jaideep inflicted the
heaviest damage on their opponents as they contributed 11 pts. and 5 pts.
respectively. A successful all out by the Pirates in the 32nd minute
took the score to 28-16. Led by a commanding performance from Jaideep, the
Patna Pirates foiled most of their opponent’s raid attempts comfortably.
The Thalaivas endured a difficult night as
the Patna Pirates’ defence was close to impregnable and the attack was
consistently punishing. Ajay Thakur won his team a crucial 10 pts despite being
subdued through most of the game.
